The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, has hinted at plans to establish a car mall within his region.
At the launch of the Ashanti Trade Expo 2026 on January 26, he said that the proposed initiative will be a large-scale industrial park that would help decongest the city and address the uncontrolled proliferation of car garages.
This will create an organised, modern, and environmentally responsible automotive hub.
He further disclosed a directive for Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies to identify suitable lands to support the development of industrial parks.
“This approach will promote balanced growth, local value addition, and job creation across the Region.”
Ashanti Expo 2026
The Expo, a subsidiary of the AshantiFest, will take place from 5th to 12th April.
It will be preceded by district-level mini expos across the Ashanti Region to ensure inclusiveness, grassroots participation, and the identification of local enterprises and investment-ready opportunities, he said.
“By integrating the Ashanti Trade Expo with AshantiFest, we are aligning culture with commerce and heritage with enterprise. The Ashanti Region remains open for business, open to partnerships, and open to bold ideas that will drive shared prosperity.”
