Two members of a robbery gang have been gunned down by the police in an attempt to foil a planned robbery attack on commuters along the Antoakrom–Manso Nkwanta stretch.

With the help of some informants, the gang lay in ambush on the stretch on December 31, 2025; however, their plan was disrupted by the police, according to a statement.

“Acting on the intelligence on 31st December 2025, a police team swiftly moved to the area and encountered four armed suspects who opened fire and attempted to flee upon seeing the police.

“Police responded to the attack, during which two suspects, later identified as Usmaro Mohammed and Yaw Frimpong, also known as Nana Yaw, sustained gunshot injuries, while two others managed to escape into the bush.”
