The Environmental Health Department of the Assembly is leading the exercise, working closely with management, staff and other stakeholders to ensure its success.

The launch coincided with the National Sanitation Day Exercise in the municipality last Saturday, which took place at the Darkuman traffic light to the Odorkor traffic light on the Dr K. A Busia Highway.

Participants in the cleanup exercise swept and cleared weeds on the main Darkuman-Odorkor road and desilted a drain on the road behind the church building of Osofo Kyiriabosom.

Launching the initiative, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ablekuma North, Adamu Musa Kalamu, stated that it formed part of the assembly’s preparations for the forthcoming Christmas festivities.

According to him, the cleanup exercise is designed to ensure a disaster-free Christmas celebration throughout the municipality, promoting a safe and healthy environment for all.
