Controversial Ghanaian political figure and Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as Kwame A Plus, has become the target of a scathing public attack from the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe Abronye.
In a bold Facebook post dated Thursday, May 1, 2025, Abronye took direct aim at A Plus, accusing him of deceiving voters during his campaign with empty promises and labeling him as irresponsible and unfit for serious political office.
He criticized A Plus for allegedly lacking integrity and failing to live up to the expectations of the people of Gomoa Central.
Abronye didn’t stop at politics; he took the attack into A Plus’s academic life, claiming the MP is facing significant challenges in his legal studies.
He alleged that A Plus is struggling with crucial law courses such as Company Law, Contract Law, and Constitutional Law. Despite these struggles, A Plus continues to publicly criticize respected legal professionals, including Dr. Dominic Ayine—whom Abronye praised as a seasoned and accomplished legal mind.
Abronye contrasted Dr. Ayine’s credentials with what he described as A Plus’s unimpressive academic background, calling his certificate inferior and referring to him as “semi-illiterate.”
Further intensifying the accusations, Abronye alleged that A Plus had been enjoying free government fuel for two years despite not holding any official appointment.
He said he personally reported the situation to President Akufo-Addo, which he claimed resulted in the benefit being revoked.
In what may be the most serious allegation, Abronye accused A Plus of diverting GHC 2 million from his Common Fund into a private company account.
He described this as a clear act of corruption and called on the appropriate authorities to launch an immediate investigation into the matter.
The accusations have added fuel to ongoing political tensions, with many observers now waiting to see how A Plus responds to these damning claims and whether any official inquiry will be opened.
