Veteran Ghanaian actor Kwaku Twumasi has issued a strong warning to celebrities about the dangers of living under constant media scrutiny. Twumasi, who has long been a prominent figure in the Ghanaian entertainment industry, urged stars to be vigilant and mindful of their actions, as there are individuals ready to exploit their mistakes for sensational news.
In a recent statement on the Okukuseku Show, Twumasi highlighted the predatory nature of some bloggers and media outlets, emphasizing how they are always on the lookout for any opportunity to create scandalous content. He stressed that celebrities must be cautious, as the media often waits for them to make mistakes.
“If you are a star, especially people like you (celebrities), one thing is certain: people are watching you, waiting for you to fall somewhere so they can pounce on it and make news out of it,” Twumasi stated. “You have to be careful because look at the girl, Serwaa. It is not even worthy to talk about it.”
Twumasi referred to a recent scandal involving a well-known presenter (Serwaa Amihere), expressing sadness over how her private life was turned into public fodder. He criticized the hypocrisy of those who judge celebrities harshly while engaging in similar or worse behaviors in their own private lives.
“It is very sad because the people who will be talking about it, what they even do in their bedrooms is even worse. And this fine talent, people want to destroy her because they had sex. Who doesn’t have sex? But it’s unfortunate that recordings and other things come out,” he said.
“I will caution all stars, celebrities, and women to be careful because people have dark minds,” Twumasi advised.
