Ghanaian actor Stephen Yaw Mawunyo, known widely as Oteele, has opened up about the incredible milestones he’s reached thanks to his career in Kumawood’s film industry. Often seen in comic roles, Oteele says acting has done far more for him than many realize.
Through his years of work in the movie business, he has been able to acquire a spacious five-bedroom house, a personal car, and two pieces of land. But perhaps the most heartwarming part of his journey is how he’s using his success to uplift others.
Oteele now runs a small orphanage that currently provides shelter and support for about 30 children. The facility is not just a home but a place where young lives are being shaped—some are in school, while others are being trained in various trades depending on their interests and strengths.
Recognizing the natural dancing abilities of many of the children, he has even created a dance group called the Oteele Dance Crew, giving the kids a platform to nurture their talents in a positive environment.
His personal life has also seen immense blessings. His role in the entertainment world led him to meet the woman he would eventually marry. The union has brought him four children, adding to the list of rewards he attributes to his acting journey.
Oteele’s story is not just about fame—it’s about turning talent into transformation, building a legacy that touches lives beyond the screen.
