Renowned Nigerian actor Afeez Oyetoro, widely known as Saka, has opened up about a personal chapter from his younger years, revealing how an attempt at marriage was abruptly cut short by an unexpected demand.
In a recent conversation on Chude Jideonwo’s show, the veteran comic actor recounted how he once proposed a serious relationship to a woman he intended to marry. To his surprise, she placed a condition: he needed to own two cars before she would consider becoming his wife.
At the time, Saka was still finding his footing in the entertainment industry and didn’t meet that requirement. The condition ultimately ended what could have become a lifelong partnership.
Reflecting on public perceptions about his career, the actor also addressed a long-standing belief that he was a brand ambassador for Etisalat, the telecommunications company behind the viral “I don port o” ad campaign that made him even more popular. Contrary to what many assumed, Saka clarified that he was only contracted as a model and not an official ambassador for the network.
