Ghanaian actress Victoria Lebene has offered a fresh perspective on what it truly means for a woman to be submissive in marriage, stressing that the idea has often been misunderstood in many homes.
During a conversation on Joy Prime on October 30, 2025, she pointed out that submission should never be mistaken for helpless obedience or fear. Instead, she believes real partnership thrives when couples openly express themselves and understand each other’s views.
Lebene maintained that healthy communication is the engine that keeps a marriage functioning. She argued that disagreements are expected in every relationship, but partners who take time to talk through their differences are able to find solutions without unnecessary friction. With constant dialogue, she added, couples learn, grow, and make more informed decisions together.
She further explained that marriage is a continuous learning experience, and cooperation between partners should be seen as a willingness to build peace and stability in the home. The actress insisted that a woman does not lose her value, strength, or identity by choosing to submit — instead, she plays a vital role in maintaining unity and structure.
To her, submission is not a position of inferiority but a deliberate act of teamwork that ensures mutual respect and harmony within the household.
