Afenyo-Markin Slams NDC, Defends NPP’s Vision (Video)

In a revealing interview on UTV Ghana, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the Minority Leader in Parliament, made bold assertions about Ghana’s political landscape, particularly focusing on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

His comments were aimed at both rallying support for his party and challenging the NDC’s integrity.

Afenyo-Markin firmly stated that the NPP stands alone in its commitment to social intervention programs, arguing that no other political party has matched the party’s achievements in this area.

He pointed out that these initiatives have significantly impacted many Ghanaians, highlighting the party’s dedication to addressing critical social issues.

While discussing the future of the country’s mining industry, Afenyo-Markin strongly opposed the establishment of the Ghana Gold Board.

He warned that it would exacerbate the illegal mining crisis, commonly referred to as galamsey, rather than offering any real solutions to the country’s mining challenges.

Despite acknowledging some disappointments during their eight years in power, Afenyo-Markin reaffirmed his belief that the NPP still holds the best vision for Ghana’s development.

He also took the opportunity to criticize the NDC, claiming that they deceived voters with false promises, particularly calling out their failure to deliver on the 24-hour economy initiative, which was notably absent from their first-year budget.

In a passionate appeal, Afenyo-Markin called on the NPP to seek divine guidance, urging the party to place its trust in God as it navigates the challenges of the current political climate.

His remarks underscored both his deep belief in the party’s potential and his frustration with the political opposition.
