The Amasaman High Court has rescheduled the appeal proceedings involving evangelist Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, widely known as Nana Agradaa, setting February 5, 2026, as the next court date.
The appeal seeks to overturn both her conviction and the 15-year custodial sentence handed down on July 3, 2025, after the court found her guilty of charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretence. Nana Agradaa maintains that the trial process was fundamentally defective, arguing that the evidence relied on by the court failed to justify the verdict and that the sentence imposed was disproportionate.
Addressing journalists after the hearing on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, her lawyer, Richard Asare Baffour, attributed the adjournment to procedural lapses on the part of the Attorney-General’s Office. According to him, the prosecution failed to comply with earlier directives issued by the court.
Mr Baffour explained that unresolved technical issues surrounding electronic evidence required for the appeal also played a role in the delay. He added that the defence resisted a request from the Attorney-General’s Office for more time to submit its arguments.
Following submissions from both sides, the court fixed February 5 for judgment and indicated that the Attorney-General’s Office may still file written addresses should it decide to do so.
“The court has adjourned the case to February 5, 2026, to deliver its judgment. By then, the Office of the Attorney-General will have the opportunity to file its written addresses, if it is minded to do so,” Mr Baffour stated, according to a report by Myjoyonline.
