The Head and Missionary-in-Charge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, Maulvi Mohammed Bin Salih, has expressed strong confidence in the leadership credentials of the Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu.
Speaking during a courtesy call on the minister in Accra on Wednesday (March 25, 2026), he described Mr Iddrisu’s leadership style as one destined for greater national significance.
The Islamic cleric highlighted what he described as a rare blend of humility, accessibility and dedication in the minister’s public service, noting that his rapport with citizens continues to strengthen public trust.
“His engagement with the ordinary Ghanaian reflects a leadership style that resonates deeply with the people and reinforces confidence in his role,” he stated.
He further described Mr Iddrisu as part of a new generation of “energetic and patriotic” leaders capable of bridging the gap between experience and youthful innovation in governance.
Courtesy call
The visit, led by Maulvi Bin Salih, was to commiserate with the minister following a recent accident he was involved in while travelling to Wa in the Upper West Region on official duty.
Mr Iddrisu had been invited by the Mission as a special guest at the graduation ceremony of the Nusra Jahan Ahmadiyya College of Education in Wa.
Recounting the incident, the Missionary-in-Charge said the minister’s commitment to duty had since attracted public admiration.
He noted that the minister honoured his official engagements despite being involved in a serious car accident shortly before the visit.
“The Minister of Education has demonstrated a spirit of sacrifice that is truly inspiring,” he noted. “To proceed with his duties after such a traumatic event speaks volumes of his character and dedication to the people of Ghana.”
Signal of greater leadership potential
According to Maulvi Bin Salih, the minister’s consistent demonstration of commitment to national duty is a clear indicator of his readiness for higher responsibility.
“I am convinced that this young man has a lot of good in him for Ghana,” he emphasised. “As the years go by, the results of this dedication will be evident for all to see.”
Model for Ghana’s youth
Maulvi Bin Salih urged Ghanaian youth to emulate the minister’s discipline, resilience and commitment to service, describing his actions as a compelling example of leadership in practice.
He encouraged young people to invest in personal development and position themselves to build upon the foundations laid by current leaders.
Gratitude and outlook
Expressing gratitude to Almighty Allah for the minister’s safety, the Ahmadiyya leader described his survival and continued service as a blessing to both the education sector and the nation.
He expressed confidence that the minister’s dedication would yield measurable progress in Ghana’s education system in the years ahead.
Responding, Mr Iddrisu thanked God for sparing his life and showing mercy to him and his convoy, and expressed appreciation to the leadership of the mission for the visit.
He also thanked all those who had shown solidarity with him during the difficult period and asked for God’s blessings for them.
The minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to expanding infrastructure to reach communities across the country.
