A video circulating on social media featuring a pastor’s critique of Ghanaian leadership has sparked heated debate regarding the intersection of ethnicity and politics in the nation.
In the video, the pastor called Rev Abraham Lamptey condemns leaders from the President to local officials, accusing them of lacking respect and transparency.
Central to the pastor’s remarks is the allegation that the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has operated without transparency, failing to address public concerns.
The pastor’s questioned fellow Akans, including Akan chiefs, who he believes have remained silent due to President Akufo-Addo’s ethnicity.
“From the president to whoever is in Ghana, they don’t respect anybody in Ghana. ECG is not telling us what is wrong, what they are doing, and how they are doing it and nobody is talking. Nobody is talking. Is it because Nana Addo is an Akan. My fellow Akans, Akan chiefs, we heard you during the time of John mahama. Have you lost your voices. pastors that prophesized, was this part of the prophecy. What is happening to Ghana. So today it is Mamprobi, tomororow it is Odorkor, nobody respects anybody. We have become so foolish, because of politics… What is wrong with the nation?
