The National Intelligence Bureau has taken Emmanuel Ofori into custody for allegedly operating a fraud network that posed as the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat on social media. Security officials say he managed several cloned accounts on different online platforms, tricking people into believing he could secure scholarships for them in exchange for payment.
Law enforcement acted after numerous victims reported losing money to what they thought were legitimate opportunities. Their complaints led investigators to track Ofori, culminating in his arrest.
Following the breakthrough, the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat issued a strong warning to the public. The office is asking anyone who may have transferred money or interacted with any of the fraudulent accounts to formally report their cases and submit evidence to help resolve the matter.
Hotlines have been made available for affected individuals to reach out:

Email support has also been provided: **[report@scholarships.gov.gh](mailto:report@scholarships.gov.gh)**
