Abdul Raud Ibrahim, an NPP communicator, recently took to Twitter to express his concerns over alleged actions by former President John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to Ibrahim, Mahama and his party orchestrated a GHC 25 million contract (approximately $8 million at the time) for his brother, Mr. Ibrahim Mahama, solely for grounds preparation to install the Ameri Power Plant.
Ibrahim contends that while the NDC is currently criticizing a $35 million arrangement, the same party had previously sanctioned a similar contract under Mahama’s leadership.
This previous contract involved the decommissioning of a 10-turbine TPP, site remediation, plant transportation, preparation of a new site, and plant recommissioning in Kumasi.
He asserts that if the same bloated rate utilized by Mahama had been applied to the recommissioning project in Kumasi, it would have cost taxpayers no less than $50 million.
Ibrahim concludes his post by accusing Mahama of prioritizing personal gain and power over the welfare of Ghanaians and urges voters to support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, whom he believes has Ghana’s development at heart.
