In a bold daylight raid on a gold shop in Diaso, Upper Denkyira West District, Central Region, a group of five armed thieves stole a pickup truck and gold worth over ¥8 billion.
The incident happened on market day, when the neighborhood was packed with traders and locals, according to Kenneth Nuamah, an affiliate reporter for Adom News with Rich One FM 96.3.
The robbers arrived in a car, and four of them stormed the store while one remained outside, intimidating witnesses with warning shots from an AK-47 and a sidearm.Many people were forced to run due to the panic produced by the gunfire.
Following the robbery, the suspects fled with a pickup truck and the gold, leaving the attack vehicle behind.One suspect has been taken into custody, according to Kenneth Nuamah, while the other four are still at large.
