The Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Malik Basintale, has stated that sickness and death are inescapable and inevitable realities of life that must be braced.

He said this to head off shock about his sudden health issues, which kept him out of the public eye for months.

He resumed work on January 13, 2026.

In a message conveyed to the public, he said, “I’m back to work. I keep saying that we are all human beings, and as long as I am flesh and have blood running through my veins, at any point in time, anyone can fall sick. It’s part of nature.

“It’s part of nature that you can be sick, and you can be healthy. When I hear people say Basintale is sick, Basintale is dead, anybody can die. You can die, I can die. Anybody can fall sick. With death, it has nothing to do with how mighty or how powerful you are.”
