The management of Asanko Mines Limited has updated Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, regarding its working operations for 2025.
According to the company, it was a tragedy-free year.
It celebrated this as good news during a courtesy visit to the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi on December 19, 2025.
“This year was incident-free. There was no tragedy,” the Managing Director, Dr Charles Amoah, said.
Briefing the Asantehene about their operations, he said the company had begun a $270 million capital project on one of its pits.
This contract, he said, had been awarded to a local company.
Meanwhile, he said operations on Abore and Esaase pits are smoothly ongoing according to plan.
He also spoke of a five-year development plan, part of which is to offer scholarships to 16 brilliant but needy students to pursue tertiary education.
“In the next four years, each will receive GHC40,000. Each has been immediately given GHC10,000.”
In addition, he highlighted a project feeding farmers the requisite knowledge in Agrobusiness, in order to double their yields.
On the use of its SRF, Mr Amoah said Asanko had completed all developmental projects at Obotan, including a 300-capacity community centre at Manso Nkran, a KVIP at Kumpese, stores at Abore, a self-contained five-unit teachers’ quarters at Asuade, and a JHS and primary school at Kwabenaso.
According to him, the company is also undertaking projects at Esaase, Akataniase, Tetrem, and Patuom.
Appreciation
He appreciated His Majesty for his invaluable support to the company and further sought blessings to carry on its operations.
“We also thank Otumfuo for offering us the needed support to stand on our feet, particularly in our operation at Amansie… We also seek the blessings of Otumfuo so that the business flourishes.”
Christmas Greetings
He used the occasion to extend best wishes to the King ahead of the new year.
“On behalf of the local and international Management of Asanko Limited, I came to extend Christmas greetings to Otumfuo and wish him good health, long life and the very best.”
