Asante Presbytery Young Adults Fellowship Launches 19th Congress

The Asante Presbytery Young Adults’ Fellowship (YAF), has launched its 19th Congress under the theme; “Celebrating our Heritage, Building on the Foundation already laid. Upholding Unity for Effective ministry”.

It was launched at the Josh Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana in Ejisu on Sunday, 8th January, 2026. It was attended by members of the Fellowship across 41 districts that make the Presbytery led by its President Ewurabena Sey, the Presbytery Chaplain, Rev Patrick Appiah-Kubi and Ejisu District Minister, Rev. Frederick Bosompem Boahen and the Josh Congregation.

Annual Congress offers the delegates the opportunity to assess the activities of the group at the Local, District and Presbytery levels, share ideas and profess solutions to challenges to improve the growth of the Fellowship.

Speaking to Opemsuo News after the event, the Presbytery YAF Chaplain, Rev. Patrick Appiah-Kubi, charged the youth aged between 30 and 40 to bring onboard their youthful exuberance for the growth of the Church through evangelism to win souls for Christ.

“This is a new year and I want to encourage YAF members to activate their youthful exuberance to support church activities. They are the strongest age group within the PCG and they need to use their God-given strength to do the work of God”.

Rev. Patrick Appiah-Kubi further called on YAF to “embrace the Agenda 2 million by intensifying evangelism and win more souls for Christ by 2028”.

Presbytery President, Sis. Ewurabena Sey, emphasising the theme for the 2026 19th Presbytery YAF Congress called on members to work hard to build a strong Fellowship to continue from where the forebears left off.

“You know the Presbyterian Church of Ghana has a rich heritage and strong foundation laid by our forebears and this is our time as Young Adults to uphold the heritage and improve upon their legacies. So I want to encourage all YAF members within the Asante Presbytery to renew their commitment and contribute our quota to the general growth of the Church”.

She called on all members within the Presbytery and other stakeholders to actively participate and support the upcoming event which is expected to take place from Thursday 21st to Sunday 24th May 2026. It shall be hosted by the Asawasi District.
