Asantehene engages BoG Governor on economic stability and growth

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, on Wednesday, January 7, visited the Bank Square in Accra to pay a courtesy call on the Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), Dr. Johnson Asiama.

The visit is widely seen as reinforcing dialogue between traditional leadership and the country’s economic managers.

Though ceremonial, the visit also carries strong national significance, coming at a time when Ghana is making significant progress in stabilising its economy.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, one of the country’s most influential traditional rulers, has over the years played an active role in advocating for policies that promote economic growth, private sector development, and social stability.

His engagement with the central bank leadership underscores the relevance of traditional authority in national economic conversations.

He is expected to have discussions with the Governor on the broader economic outlook, including inflation, access to credit for businesses, and the need to strengthen public confidence in financial institutions , issues that directly affect traders, entrepreneurs, and households across the country.
