The Occupant of the Golden Stool, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, believes that world peace can only be restored through divine wisdom and patience.
His Majesty has therefore recommended King Solomon’s wisdom and Job’s patience, noting that the international order on which global peace has been sustained since the last World War is under threat.
Speaking at a dinner event to mark 27 years on the Golden Stool, the King said only wisdom of that nature can restore tranquility.
“We need the wisdom of King Solomon and the patience of Job to help us navigate the treacherous terrain,” he stated.
The Asantehene made the remark while outlining the impact of ongoing tensions in Europe and the Middle East.
“There is no such thing as an isolated conflict, and there is no immunity for anyone from the ravages of conflict anywhere. Wherever peace is threatened, the whole world is threatened. So we cannot talk about peace in Ghana without feeling the crushing weight and corrosive impact of wars raging in Europe and the Middle East.”
“The true collateral damage to innocent communities across the globe is yet to be measured. The innocent billions in the world who are collateral victims are crying in silence, and the cries of anguish and tears can no longer be ignored. Nor can our hearts bear the continuous suffering of those who are the direct victims of these wars.”
The event, held on April 24, 2026, at the Manhyia Palace, was graced by former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, businessman Sir Sam Jonah, the Olu of Warri Kingdom in Nigeria, His Royal Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, and his wife, Her Royal Highness Olori Atuwatse III.
Also present were Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, Bank of Ghana Governor Dr. Johnson Asiama, politician Alan Kyerematen, Council of State member Betty Mould-Iddrisu, Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga, and Ashanti Regional Minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene.
