The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, has extended support to Kumawood actors, directors, producers, and actresses by presenting them with GHC 20,000 following a crucial meeting focused on revitalising the declining movie industry.
The meeting, held on 18 February, brought together key players in Kumawood to discuss the challenges facing the industry.
Dr Amoakohene explained that the purpose of the engagement was to gain a deeper understanding of the issues behind Kumawood’s decline and explore possible solutions.
During the discussion, producers and directors shared their perspectives on the factors affecting the industry and suggested measures to restore its former glory.
In his closing remarks, the minister stressed the value of the stakeholders’ time and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the industry.
He further assured attendees that he would present their concerns and recommendations to President Mahama to ensure that their voices are heard at the highest level.
