Assin Central MP Denies Walking Out of Newsfile, Accuses Host of Bias

Rev. John Ntim Fodjour, Member of Parliament for Assin Central and Ranking Member on Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee, is demanding clarity from Joy FM’s Sampson

Lardi Ayenini regarding a series of text messages that were read during the latest edition of the Newsfile program.

The MP, who has recently been at the center of a heated political storm over claims involving two foreign aircraft in Ghana, insists that the messages aired during the broadcast were not representative of genuine public opinion.

According to him, they appeared to have been selectively included to cast doubt on his exposé.

Rev. Fodjour claims his suspicion was confirmed when the show’s producer allegedly distanced themselves from responsibility for sending those messages to the host.

He has also pushed back against reports suggesting that he abruptly exited the program. Addressing the matter via social media, Rev. Fodjour explained that he was invited to participate in just one segment of the show.

He noted that after his scheduled portion concluded and the show went on break, he left the studio—only to later learn that it had been publicly implied he had walked out in protest.

The MP has recently drawn sharp criticism from opposition figures within the National Democratic Congress (NDC), especially following his claims about two foreign aircraft—identified as AirMed Flight N823AM and the Antonov An-12B—being present in Ghana under mysterious circumstances.

His assertions have fueled political debate, prompting President John Dramani Mahama to order an official probe by national security into the matter.

However, the opposition has questioned the MP’s motives, with figures such as Sammy Gyamfi and Felix Kwakye Ofosu suggesting his claims were politically driven to smear the current government.

In response, Rev. Fodjour maintains that his critics, and possibly even the host of Newsfile, are attempting to dilute the impact of his revelations by shaping media narratives against him.

The growing controversy underscores the increasingly tense political environment as Ghana prepares for another election cycle, with media platforms and political figures locking horns over national issues.
