At Sofoline Magazine in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti Region, hundreds of stores and mechanic workshops have been completely destroyed by a big fire. On Sunday, January 25, 2026, at around 7:00 p.m., the fire started, devouring a number of buildings, including workshops and vehicles that were being repaired, and destroying a significant amount of equipment, spare parts, and other items. The Ghana National Fire Service sent firefighters to the area quickly, and they were able to confine the fire and stop it from spreading to nearby properties.Travel guide to Ghana Numerous business owners and mechanics are counting their losses as a result of the tragedy, however no injuries have been reported.
