The ICGC Christ Temple East at Teshie came alive on Sunday, February 15, as hundreds filled the auditorium for this year’s Awake Experience with Diana Hamilton.
The night opened with worship that slowly drew the congregation in. It opened with song ministration that slowly set the tone. Voices blended, instruments played smoothly, and the congregation eased into worship.
Gospel musician, Siisi Baidoo was among the first to take the stage, delivering a heartfelt ministration that blended passion with control. His performance warmed up the auditorium, setting the spiritual tone for the night.
The auditorium lit up. People clapped in sync, sang along loudly and swayed to the beat. The mood turned celebratory, and the praise intensified.
South African gospel powerhouse, Ntokozo Mbambo led the audience into an intense session of spirit-led worship, drawing the entire auditorium into unified adoration. Her voice carried strength and calm at the same time, and as she led, the auditorium became unified in worship.
When veteran gospel minister Elder Mireku mounted the stage, the atmosphere softened again. His seasoned voice, steady and reassuring, led many into quiet reflection. It was one of those moments where the entire room seemed still, listening and responding in reverence.
The legendary Tagoe Sisters brought back the tempo with high-energy praise. Their presence alone stirred excitement. As they delivered some of their timeless songs, many in the audience rose to their feet, clapping and dancing freely.
But the defining moment of the evening came when Diana Hamilton stepped onto the stage.
Calm, confident and deeply connected to her audience, she led a carefully curated ministration that blended testimony, worship and praise. She did not rush the moment.
Between songs, she exhorted the congregation, urging them to remain awake spiritually and grounded in gratitude.
She performed some of her timeless songs, including “Yehowa Behw3,” “Wasem,” “Nsenkyer3ne Nyankopon,” and “Mo Ne Yo,” among others, each one drawing a strong reaction from the audience. Many sang along word for word. Others simply stood, hands lifted.
Midway through her set, she introduced one of her most celebrated songs, “Aha Y3”, translated as “This is a Good Place.” What followed became the emotional high point of the night.
She was joined on stage by Ntokozo Mbambo and Elder Mireku. The trio stood side by side, exchanging verses before lifting the chorus together in powerful harmony. Ntokozo’s soulful depth blended seamlessly with Elder Mireku’s timeless tone, while Diana anchored the performance with commanding grace.
When they sang “Aha Y3,” the congregation responded instantly. The entire auditorium echoed the words back, turning the song into a declaration. Hands were lifted. Some danced. Others closed their eyes in worship.
As the night progressed, Diana shifted fully into praise. The tempo increased. The drums were louder. The energy rose. By the final songs, the audience could not remain seated.
Many left their seats and gathered in front of the stage, dancing and praising God openly. The front of the auditorium turned into a sea of movement and joy.
By the time the programme ended, Awake Experience had delivered more than music. It delivered moments of worship, celebration and unity. And for many who were present, the message of the night remained simple and clear: this place was good.
