Edem Senanu, Chairperson of the African Union Advisory Board Against Corruption, has praised the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for its response to alleged vote buying during Saturday’s Ayawaso East NDC primaries.

The ruling NDC has given a three-member committee up to Tuesday, February 10, 2026, to submit its findings on allegations of the widespread inducement and vote-buying during the exercise.

This was announced in a statement signed by the party’s General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, on Saturday, February 7, 2026, after the election.

Speaking on The Probe on JoyNews on Sunday, Mr Senanu said the party had demonstrated the correct approach to tackling corruption by condemning the allegations and establishing the committee to investigate the matter.

“I am absolutely impressed by the NDC’s posture. This is the kind of thing we want to see. The internal processes where the president has said I am calling this gentleman back, we have an internal committee established. I wish the NPP would immediately take those kinds of actions,” he said on the show while discussing the actions by the NDC and the presidency following the election.
