Baba Ali Yussif, has stated that Baba Jamal is not a treat to NPP
In an exclusive interview with Yonkopa FM, Baba Ali Yussif, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso East, has downplayed the chances of Mohammed Baba Jamal Ahmed, a rival candidate, posing a threat to the party’s prospects in the upcoming by-election.
Speaking at the party’s office in Ayawaso North, Baba Ali Yussif expressed confidence in his ability to lead the constituency to victory, citing his experience and grassroots connections.
“Baba Jamal is not a treat to NPP,” he said, emphasising his commitment to delivering developmental projects to the community.
When given the mandate to serve, Baba Ali Yussif has promised to prioritise projects that would benefit the people, including the construction of hospitals, improvement of roads, establishment of modern educational facilities and creation of jobs.
”I will make sure I bring development to the community, and the people will enjoy the good works of the New Patriotic Party,” he stated.
Baba Ali Yussif’s remarks come amid intense campaigning in the Ayawaso East constituency, where the NPP is seeking to retain the seat vacated by the late Naser Toure Mahama.
The by-election is scheduled to take place on March 3, 2026, with Baba Ali Yussif facing off against several opponents, including Baba Jamal, who is contesting on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ticket.
