President John Dramani Mahama has encouraged the Kusasis and Mamprusis to accept and abide by mediation report recommendations by the Monarch of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
In a definitive statement issued on December 17, 2025, the Presidency endorsed the report, saying the mediation process and its report did not look out for winners and losers.
It affirmed that it was in the supreme interest of peace and national stability in Bawku.
“His Excellency the President, John Dramani Mahama, urges all parties to accept and faithfully abide by the conclusions and recommendations of the Mediation Report in the supreme interest of peace and national stability.”
It also called on all traditional authorities, political leaders, youth groups, civil society organisations, religious bodies, development partners, and the broader citizenry to support the peace-building and reconciliation process in the spirit of unity, restraint, and patriotism.
In the view of the government, the report constitutes a comprehensive, fact-based, and forward-looking roadmap aimed exclusively at achieving lasting peace, reconciliation, and stability in Bawku and its surrounding areas.
It emphasised, “It is not intended to apportion blame or confer victory on any party.”
