NPP presidential hopeful Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has concluded a comprehensive tour of all 276 constituencies across Ghana as the party prepares for its presidential primaries on Saturday, January 31, 2026.

The nationwide campaign, launched under the banner “Our Journey Together” on October 15, 2025, in Sene East, comes less than a year after the NPP’s defeat in the 2024 general elections, which brought an end to the party’s eight-year governance tenure.

The tour forms part of the party’s early reorganisation strategy, prioritised by the National Council to select a presidential flagbearer and rebuild grassroots support.

Dr. Bawumia’s campaign team explained that the tour aimed to engage directly with party members at the constituency level, solicit feedback, and outline a clear path forward following the electoral setback.

During discussions with local executives, polling station officers, electoral area coordinators, and activists, he stressed the importance of party unity, collective responsibility, and improved organisation to strengthen the NPP ahead of future elections.

The Vice President also highlighted his political experience and record in office, referencing initiatives such as the Ghana Card, Mobile Money Interoperability, and the Zipline medical drone programme.

He encouraged supporters to focus on policy, experience, and party cohesion rather than internal divisions. Grassroots members across Ashanti, Greater Accra, Eastern, Western, Bono, Bono East, Ahafo, Northern, and Oti regions publicly endorsed his candidacy.
