Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia
Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, Mussa Dankwah, has reiterated his firm belief that former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is the frontrunner in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential primaries.
In its final pre-election poll published on January 23, 2026, the research firm projected Dr Bawumia to win the contest with 57 per cent of the total votes.
The poll ranked former Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong, second with 28 per cent, while Abetifi MP Dr Bryan Acheampong followed with 13 per cent. Bosomtwe MP Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum secured two per cent, with former NPP General Secretary Ing Kwabena Agyepong polling zero per cent.
The nationwide survey was conducted between January 20 and January 23, 2026, sampling 10,133 respondents across all 16 regions and 272 constituencies.
The findings, according to Global InfoAnalytics, reflect voting intentions after accounting for undecided respondents and other influencing factors within the party’s electoral college.
“Yes. Everything has been taken into account here, including those who are not disclosing. It’s a one-touch victory for Bawumia,” Mussa Dankwah said while speaking on Channel One TV on Wednesday, January 28.
The NPP is set to hold its presidential primaries on Saturday, January 31, with Dr Bawumia, Kennedy Agyapong, Dr Bryan Acheampong, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum and Ing Kwabena Agyepong competing for the party’s flagbearer slot.
