National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has appealed to party supporters who have yet to receive government appointments to remain calm and patient, stressing that opportunities under the current administration are limited.

According to him, constitutional limits on the number of appointments the President can make make it practically impossible to accommodate all deserving members simultaneously.

He explained that while many party faithful worked tirelessly to secure victory, the realities of governance impose clear limits.

Addressing party supporters during a meeting in Winneba, Effutu Constituency, on Thursday, February 12, Asiedu Nketia acknowledged the frustrations expressed by some members and assured them that the party leadership understands their concerns.

“I am aware that some of you are unhappy because you did not get to be appointed to any position upon our return to power. This is understandable. It is the reason why I am embarking on this ‘Thank You Tour’, to explain issues for your understanding,” he said.

He added that, given the number of appointments permitted for President John Mahama, not all NDC members could be accommodated at once.

He further urged members to avoid anger or public criticism of the party, instead channelling their grievances through established internal channels.

Asiedu Nketia is currently touring the Central Region as part of the NDC’s post-election engagements to interact with supporters and address their concerns.
