Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder of Winners Chapel International, has once again stirred conversation after a video of him asserting sole ownership of the church’s vision went viral.
The footage, shared on X on September 23, 2025, captured the outspoken preacher declaring that Winners Chapel was not the product of group discussions or collective effort. According to him, the ministry has no co-founder because God revealed the mandate exclusively to him.
Oyedepo explained that every directive shaping the church, including its massive expansion into Africa, was delivered to him personally. He urged members and pastors to revisit the church’s mandate, insisting that no one else was present when God handed him the vision.
He further revealed that his recent acquisition of a private jet was not a personal decision but an instruction from God. “It was time to get the aircraft,” he stressed, adding that the decision was never open for discussion with anyone.
His bold statements have reignited debate about leadership, wealth, and spiritual authority within African Christianity, particularly surrounding Oyedepo’s well-known claims of divine direction.
