A young boy in northern Zimbabwe has defied the odds by surviving alone for five days in a vast game park teeming with lions and elephants.
His remarkable endurance and resourcefulness have left many in awe.
The ordeal began when seven-year-old Tinotenda Pudu wandered deep into Matusadona Game Park, a sprawling 1,470 sq km wildlife reserve known for its high lion population.
According to officials, he had strayed 49 km (30 miles) from home before he was finally found.
With no food or shelter, Tinotenda relied on his knowledge of the wild to stay alive. He sustained himself by eating wild fruit and digging small wells into dry riverbeds with a stick to access drinking water—a survival technique commonly taught in drought-prone regions.
As the days passed, members of the local Nyaminyami community launched a search effort, using traditional methods such as beating drums to guide him back home.
Despite their efforts, it was a team of park rangers who ultimately located him.
On the fifth day of his ordeal, Tinotenda heard a vehicle approaching and ran toward it, but it passed by without noticing him.
Fortunately, the rangers soon spotted fresh footprints and followed the trail until they found him.
His survival has stunned many, with people across social media praising his resilience.
The Matusadona Game Park, home to elephants, zebras, hippos, and an estimated 40 lions, is considered one of the most perilous places for a child to be alone.
The young survivor’s experience is being hailed as nothing short of extraordinary, with many calling it a tale of courage and survival against all odds.
