Private legal practitioner Austin Kwabena Brako-Powers has raised concerns about the pace and consistency of implementation of the government’s flagship 24-Hour Economy policy.
Speaking on Current Agenda at Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), Mr. Brako-Powers said while the policy was heavily promoted ahead of the elections, public communication around its rollout has not been consistent.
He acknowledged reports that an office has been established to drive the policy and that steps are being taken toward operationalisation. However, he argued that citizens are yet to see clear evidence of full implementation.
According to him, national discourse should shift from political debate to measurable delivery, focusing on whether what was promised to Ghanaians is being executed within the first year in office.
Mr. Brako-Powers cautioned against turning policy initiatives into partisan talking points, stressing that long-term economic strategies require continuity beyond electoral cycles.
He added that the broader national conversation should centre on whether Ghana is moving forward in practical terms, rather than reverting to political contestation over campaign messaging.
