Andrew Amaechi Ochekwo, an Aba-based businessman arrested in connection with the disappearance of two friends, Celine Ndudim, Nigerian and Afiba Tandoh, a Ghanaian has been killed while being transported to Abuja for further investigation.
Reports confirmed that Ochekwo was shot dead by vigilantes during an attempted escape. He was killed while trying to escape with his car.
Ochekwo was under investigation for his alleged involvement in an organ harvesting syndicate, which came to light after the disappearance of Ndudim and Tandoh. The two friends had traveled from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to Aba, Abia State, to meet Ochekwo, whom they had connected with on Facebook. Their whereabouts remain unknown.
Another victim is alleged to have managed to escape from Ochekwo’s house after being held hostage for six days, shedding more light on the dangerous operations Ochekwo was allegedly involved in.
On May 22, an alarm was raised by an activist on social media about the disappearance of the two friends, prompting an investigation that led to Ochekwo’s arrest. The case took a dark turn with the revelation of Ochekwo’s connections to an organ harvesting syndicate, a criminal network involved in the illicit trade of human organs.
The death of Ochekwo has left many questions unanswered, particularly concerning the fate of Ndudim and Tandoh. Authorities continue to search for the missing women while investigating the broader implications of Ochekwo’s criminal activities.
As investigations continue, the public remains hopeful for a breakthrough that will lead to the safe recovery of the missing women and the dismantling of the organ harvesting syndicate.
