The accident, involving a Hyundai Getz taxi with registration number GW 7715-25 travelling from Twifo Mampong towards Twifo Praso, happened on Christmas Eve.

According to a report by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the taxi was speeding when it veered off the road and crashed into a tree.

Three of the occupants trapped in the wreckage were extricated by the firefighters and rushed to the hospital.

“Eyewitnesses attributed the crash to overspeeding on a curve amid rainy conditions. The affected vehicle was completely wrecked.”
