Cargill Cares has undertaken a community outreach initiative at the Mampong Demonstration School for the Deaf, combining healthcare support with an Easter celebration that benefited hundreds of students.

The programme, held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, focused on improving access to healthcare while also providing relief items and meals to mark the Easter season.

As part of the intervention, Cargill Cares furnished the school’s clinic, including the doctors’ consulting room and two wards, following recent renovation works supported by Worship Tabernacle Shaping Lives.

The organisation also supplied essential medical consumables to strengthen routine healthcare delivery for both students and staff.

In addition, about 600 students were treated to a special Easter celebration, which included a buffet meal and the distribution of various food items and household essentials.

The donation featured items such as rice, cooking oil, oats, tomato paste, sugar, beverages, noodles, canned fish, and other supplies aimed at supporting the school’s nutritional needs.

Speaking at the event, Managing Director of Cargill Ghana, Max Essoh Latte, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to community development.

“We are delighted to support the Mampong Demonstration School for the Deaf, not only by improving their healthcare facilities but also by sharing the joy of Easter with the students.

This initiative reflects our continued commitment to nurturing communities and empowering lives,” he said.

The school’s management expressed appreciation for the support, noting that the intervention would significantly enhance healthcare services and improve student welfare.

Cargill Ghana, which has operated in the country’s cocoa sector for over four decades, continues to invest in social impact initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods and supporting community development.
