Chairman Wontumi, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), claims that many Ghanaians are now regretting their decision to vote for President John Mahama in the last election.
Speaking at the party’s “Thank You” tour in Kumasi, Wontumi declared that citizens across the country are beginning to miss the NPP’s leadership.
According to him, the disappointment stems from unfulfilled campaign promises made by Mahama and the NDC.
He asserted that a significant number of voters supported the NDC based on hopeful pledges made ahead of the 2024 elections.
However, barely months into the new administration, Wontumi claims the enthusiasm has turned into regret.
In his view, the current government’s inability to live up to expectations has left many wishing the NPP were still steering the affairs of the nation.
His remarks form part of a growing narrative from the opposition, positioning the NPP as the preferred alternative for future elections.
