Emmanuel Asante, widely known by his pseudonym Cheddar the Bell Boy, has opened up about the events that led to his decision to pursue acting.
In a recent interview with Akoto Mensah, Cheddar shared how his passion for acting evolved, especially after he started creating the viral skit series “Cheddar Bell Boy” on social media.
Cheddar revealed that the idea for the skit began when he was a student. His teacher, who later became the creative force behind the skit, once asked the class what they aspired to become in the future.
While most of his classmates mentioned typical white-collar professions, Cheddar surprised the teacher by expressing his desire to become an actor. This led to the teacher questioning his mental state, given his unusual choice compared to his peers’ ambitions.
Reflecting on his early interest in acting, Cheddar cited Ghanaian comedy legends Lilwin and Akrobeto as his main sources of inspiration. He shared that watching their performances sparked his passion for acting, fueling his dream to join the industry.
Their influence, Cheddar stated, made his desire to pursue acting grow stronger, ultimately leading him to carve out a space for himself in the world of skits and acting.
