The Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) has announced a nationwide strike effective March 9, 2026.

It is accusing the government of failure to implement approved conditions of service dating back to 2023.

At a presser on February 19, the Association said the decision was taken by its National Executive Council (NEC) as it expressed frustration over the delay in executing the agreed terms, despite what it says were extensive negotiations and official approval three years ago.

CLOGSAG Executive Secretary Isaac Bampoe Addo stated that two separate Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) regarding salary structures, allowances, and other benefits from the negotiations have yet to be implemented.

The Association feels “taken for granted” and thereby deems the strike action as the appropriate means to seek a remedy.

“Government has been mute over their own promises to implement the unique salary structure and other conditions of service effective January 1, 2025. In the light of the above NEC decided to declare an industrial action to back the demand for better conditions of service for it members.”
