Ghanaian politician who doubles as a lawyer, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has taken a swipe at the COCOBOD, stating that they should be blamed.
Speaking in an interview with Gh Page’s Jibsam, the staunch member of the opposition NPP decided to add his cent to the ongoing issue that revolves around cocoa prices.
Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has said that the COCOBOD should be blamed for the predicaments of cocoa farmers in the country, stating that the spend money unnecessarily.
In buttressing his assertion, the politician stated that “so no amount of attempt to rationalize it is going to change the reality on the ground. And this comes at a time when COCOBOD is spending money unnecessarily”.
Kojo Oppong Nkrumah stated in furtherance that even though the cocoa farmers may have their other reasons, he believes that the unnecessary spending of the COCOBOD has angered them so much.
He however suggested to the incumbent NDC government that, even if they cannot fulfil their promise, they should at least ensure the cocoa farmers receive the same amount they received under the Akufo-Addo government.
