Former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia continues to hold a commanding lead in the race for the NPP’s 2026 flagbearership, according to the latest survey released by Global InfoAnalytics.

The poll reveals Bawumia leading in 14 of the country’s 16 regions, and holding a national advantage of 42%. Kennedy Agyapong follows in second place with 18%, while 34% of respondents remain undecided or chose not to disclose their preference.

A closer look at the NPP’s core supporters—referred to in the survey as “committed voters”—paints an even stronger picture for Bawumia. Within this key group, 63% said they are firmly backing the former vice president, compared to 29% for Kennedy Agyapong. Other candidates, including Dr Bryan Acheampong (7%), Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum (1%), and Kwabena Agyepong (0%), received minimal support.

Global InfoAnalytics defines committed voters as delegates who have openly declared their support for a candidate and are unlikely to change their vote. This model excludes undecided voters and those unwilling to reveal their choice, making it a strong indicator of unwavering grassroots backing.

For Bawumia, dominance among committed voters provides a significant strategic advantage. These loyal supporters not only guarantee consistent votes but can also sway undecided delegates and help consolidate momentum ahead of the primaries.
