The Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations has completed the nationwide distribution of laptops to all Regional Ministers and Members of Parliament ahead of the rollout of the One Million Coders Programme (OMCP).
The laptops will be deployed to constituency-level training centres to ensure a smooth take-off of Phase Two of the flagship digital skills initiative.
According to the Ministry, the distribution marks a major milestone in its preparations for the programme, which is set to commence on April 11, 2026, in selected constituencies across the country.
The One Million Coders Programme aims to equip one million Ghanaian youth with digital skills.
The initiative is designed to ensure constituency-level ownership and effective delivery of training.
With the equipment now in place, the Ministry said Phase Two training centres are expected to be operational by April 11 for the nationwide rollout.
“Having all Regional Ministers equipped to support the rollout is critical to the success of this programme,” the Ministry stated.
The OMCP forms part of the government’s broader agenda to accelerate digital transformation and expand employment opportunities for young people through technology.
