A group calling itself the Concerned Assembly Members of the Ellembelle District has debunked reports alleging that they petitioned the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources over a dispute involving Adamus Resources Limited.
In a rejoinder signed by Banabas Ewereko and issued on Wednesday 22nd April, 2026, the group described the publication as false, misleading, and without any factual basis.
“We wish to categorically state that this publication is false, misleading, and without any basis in fact” the statement stated.
According to the statement, the Assembly Members have no knowledge of any such petition and have not engaged in any discussions or actions concerning the alleged dispute.
“At no point have we collectively or individually initiated such action,” the statement emphasized.
The group also dismissed claims of an ongoing dispute between communities in the area and the mining company, stressing that no such situation exists to warrant escalation to the Sector Minister.
They further described the report as a distortion of facts capable of creating unnecessary tension and panic within otherwise peaceful communities.
The Concerned Assembly Members urged the public to disregard the publication and called on media practitioners to verify information before dissemination.
They reaffirmed that there is no petition, no dispute, and that the situation in the area remains calm and stable, with no conflict involving Adamus Resources Limited.
