Controversial Lawyer Alleges NDC Has ‘No Use’ for Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang

Controversial Ghanaian lawyer-turned-media-personality, Maurice Ampaw, has stirred controversy with claims that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) is plotting against Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang.

Speaking on Wontumi TV, Ampaw alleged that the Vice President’s recent health scare was not coincidental but rather a deliberate attempt to remove her from the political landscape.

According to Ampaw, the sudden illness that affected Opoku-Agyemang on March 28, 2025, was spiritually motivated and part of an orchestrated plan to eliminate her.

He called on spiritual forces to reverse any alleged harm directed at her, using the phrase “back to sender.”

Delving into his reasoning, Ampaw claimed that the NDC only selected Opoku-Agyemang as a running mate to secure electoral victory but now sees her as redundant.

He further alleged that she has been an ineffective Vice President, which has led to internal efforts to sideline her.

His comments follow reports that the Vice President suffered an unexpected medical emergency and received treatment at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC). She is now expected to travel abroad for further medical care.

Despite the concerns surrounding her health, Opoku-Agyemang has reassured the public of her well-being, having recently shared a message for Eid-ul-Fitr.

Ampaw’s claims have sparked mixed reactions, with some questioning the basis of his allegations while others see them as reflective of power struggles within the ruling party.

With the Vice President’s health now in focus, many are closely monitoring developments within the NDC amid speculation about the party’s internal dynamics.
