Selected health facilities across the country will be taking a ‘subsidised’ fee of Ghc650.00 for mandatory medical screening for prospective Hajj pilgrims.
In a statement, the Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG) announced the commencement of the exercise for the 2026 Hajj season in collaboration with designated medical teams.
The medical screening will involve comprehensive health assessments, including general physical examinations, screening for communicable and non-communicable diseases, a review of medical history, and evaluation of fitness for long-distance travel and strenuous religious activities.
This is to confirm the health, safety, and overall preparedness of all intending to embark on the pilgrim.
“Only pilgrims who successfully complete and pass the screening will be cleared to proceed with further Hajj preparations,” the Office noted in a statement issued on January 28, 2026.
It said the exercise will take place across the Upper East, North East, Upper West, Northern, Ashanti, and Greater Accra regions, adding that a detailed schedule outlining the dates, venues, and expected daily attendance has been prepared.
“Pilgrims are also advised to arrive promptly and cooperate fully with medical personnel to ensure a smooth and efficient screening process.
The Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana further called on all stakeholders, including accredited Hajj agents, religious leaders, and community heads, to support the exercise through effective information dissemination and strict compliance.
