During Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s recent tour of the Western Region, an unexpected incident occurred upon his arrival at Nzema Aiyinase.
Instead of receiving the customary warm reception, a section of the crowd expressed their dissatisfaction by hooting and chanting ‘away’.
Despite the apparent discontent, Dr. Bawumia maintained his composure. With a smile, he calmly continued his interactions with the people, remaining unfazed by the reaction.
This unexpected turn of events highlighted both the tension among some members of the crowd and the Vice President’s ability to handle the situation with poise.
The tour, aimed at engaging with local communities and addressing concerns, proceeded as planned despite the brief disruption.
Bawumia is the presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party.
General elections will be held in Ghana on 7 December 2024 to elect the president and members of Parliament.

To vote, individuals must be Ghanaian citizens and at least 18 years of age, except for those deemed legally insane, who are excluded from voting.
Candidates running for Parliament must be Ghanaian citizens aged 21 or older and either reside in the constituency they wish to represent or have lived there for at least five of the previous ten years.
