Fresh drama has erupted in the family of the late highlife legend, Charles Kwadwo Fosuh, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, after his grandmother publicly recognised only Akosua Serwaa as the musician’s legitimate wife.

During the family’s appearance before the Saamanhene of the Asantehene’s Traditional Council on November 10, 2025, the elderly woman’s declaration stirred tension and sparked massive online debate. The family had been summoned following an earlier incident in which Daddy Lumba’s elder sister, Ernestina Fosu, invoked Otumfuo’s “Ntam Kese” against the family head, Kofi Owusu.

In a video that has since gone viral, the grandmother openly dismissed claims that Odo Broni, believed to be the late musician’s second wife, held any rightful position as his widow. She insisted that Akosua Serwaa was the only woman legally married to Lumba and the one she recognises within the family.

She went on to say that she would gladly accept any of Lumba’s children born outside the marriage but maintained that Akosua Serwaa was the one who stood by the family through thick and thin. The elderly woman praised Serwaa for giving Lumba’s late mother, Ama Saah, a dignified burial and expressed her confidence that she would do the same for her when her time comes.

Her statement has reignited debate among fans and family followers, with many interpreting her words as an attempt to put an end to the growing dispute over who truly holds the title of Daddy Lumba’s wife.
