Ghanaian musician Darkovibes recently provided insight into the use of marijuana among some artists, including himself, revealing why they turn to the substance during recording sessions and before performances.
During a conversation on the 3FM Drive show on October 1, 2024, he explained that marijuana, or ‘weed’, is often used for recreational purposes by artists rather than being something they carry openly in public.
Darkovibes explained that the intense demands of long recording sessions or extended performance preparations can be mentally exhausting.
To manage the strain, many musicians, including him, find that smoking weed helps them relax and stay focused.
He described how artists may spend 24 to 48 hours in the studio or preparing for a concert, and marijuana serves as a way to ease their minds during these lengthy processes.
Despite advocating for its recreational use in certain situations, Darkovibes stressed that he ensures he follows the law.
He makes a conscious effort not to carry marijuana in public spaces and is open to being searched by authorities, underscoring his respect for legal boundaries.
His comments shed light on how some in the entertainment industry use weed as a tool for stress management, while also acknowledging the importance of using it responsibly.
