Media personality Solomon Buchi has stirred controversy by calling for the ban of dating and the talking stage in relationships, arguing that they are unbiblical.
Sharing his views in a video posted on his social media page, Buchi referenced the Bible to support his stance.
According to him, men in biblical times were clear and deliberate about marriage, without engaging in preliminary relationship phases like modern dating. He questioned where in the Bible it was recorded that a man wanted to “get to know” a woman before marrying her, stating, “Men were very intentional. They moved with purpose, saying, ‘I want to marry you.’”
Buchi criticised the complexities modern society has introduced into relationships, claiming that dating complicates what should be straightforward. He believes returning to biblically inspired relationship practices would address many societal relationship issues.
