International corporate lawyer and entrepreneur Victoria Bright has urged Ghanaians not to discount the contributions of David Asante at the Ghana Publishing Company Limited (GPCL), highlighting his impactful leadership and commitment to national development.

She made the remarks during an interview on JoyNews Newsfile on Saturday, January 17, 2026.

“This whole thing about people wanting to take credit is sometimes to the detriment of the national discourse or development, and it is a serious problem that we have in this country,” Ms Bright said. “I don’t think what David Asante Boateng did shouldn’t be discounted.”

She recounted her own experiences at the Assembly Press, noting that she had often avoided attending events there personally and would send staff in her place.

“I didn’t like going to the Assembly Press because I almost never liked going there, and I would send the Clark to go,” she said, stressing that effective leadership often occurs behind the scenes rather than in public recognition.

Ms Bright’s comments underscore the need to acknowledge the work of public sector leaders whose initiatives, though not always highly visible, contribute significantly to organisational reform and national progress.

She called for a more balanced appreciation of efforts by individuals like David Asante to ensure their contributions are not overlooked in national conversations.
